Frequently asked

The questions most travelers ask before they commit. If we missed something, write to us.

We manage every aspect of your visa process, including documentation and approvals. Your visa will be delivered to you approximately two weeks prior to departure.
Yes, Socotra is very safe. The island is isolated from mainland Yemen's conflicts and has a peaceful, welcoming local community. Crime is virtually nonexistent, and tourists are treated with respect and hospitality. Our guides ensure your safety throughout your journey.
Internet connectivity is limited on Socotra. Some hotels in Hadibo offer WiFi, but it's generally slow and unreliable. Most people end up glad of the disconnection. SIM cards are available but coverage is limited to 3G and very limited outside the main town. If need be, we provide Starlink satellite internet access.
Accommodation varies from comfortable hotels in Hadibo to traditional camping experiences in nature. Our tours include a mix of both - hotels for rest days and camping under the stars for the full adventure experience. All camping equipment is provided and our staff ensures your comfort.
Enjoy simple but delicious Yemeni and local Socotri cuisine, including fresh seafood, grilled meats, rice dishes, and fresh bread. We accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences - just let us know in advance. Our meat is Halal and vegetarian options are always available. Bottled water is provided throughout the tour.
Pack light, breathable clothing, sturdy hiking shoes, swimwear, sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), insect repellent, personal medications, and a reusable water bottle. Modest clothing is recommended out of respect for local culture. We provide a detailed packing list upon booking.
Hotels have electricity for charging, but camping sites don't have power. Bring a portable power bank for charging cameras and phones during camping portions. Bring extra camera batteries, and expect to use your phone less than you would at home.
Drone use requires special permission from local authorities, and regulations may change. We will keep you informed and assist with obtaining the necessary permits. Flights are permitted provided drones are not operated over private property or near the airport.
We're committed to leave-no-trace principles, employ local guides and staff, support local businesses, and contribute to conservation efforts. We use eco-friendly camping practices, minimize plastic waste, and educate travelers about respecting Socotra's unique ecosystem and local culture.
Cancellations made 60+ days before departure receive a full refund minus administrative fees. 30-60 days: 50% refund. Less than 30 days: no refund unless we can fill your spot. We highly recommend travel insurance. Weather-related cancellations are handled case-by-case with rescheduling options.
